U.C. Berkeley settles speech lawsuit, agrees to pay attorneys’ fees and change of policies

The University of California, Berkeley announced yesterday that it had settled a First Amendment lawsuit with two conservative groups who accused the university of viewpoint discrimination. “That protection involves not just defending your right to speak, or the right of those you agree with, but also defending the right to speak by those you disagree with, even of those whose views you find abhorrent[,]” said chancellor Carol Christ.
