Law and Justice in a Digital Age; Lessig on Aaron Swartz

On February 19, 2013, Lawrence Lessig presented a talk on the recent death of Aaron Swartz. Although I don’t necessarily agree with all of Lessig’s arguments, his questioning of the role of law and lawyers is of particular import and worth the read.

In fact, and assuming Swartz’s ideology as described by Lessig is true, there is much that artists can learn from Swartz. According to Lessig, Swartz did not oppose all copyright; he just opposed dumb copyright. I think that’s enough of a lesson for today.
