French Court, Photos of the Concorde Are Not Copyrightable

Yikes! I think there are quite a few people in the US who will love this decision. A French court has ruled that a “photograph is protectable under copyright only to the extent that it is the result of a creative effort and does not aim solely to reproduce, as faithfully as possible, a pre-existing object.”

I think it’s pretty clear that in the US this would have a very different outcome.
