Must See: Artist’s Sculptural Project Destroys Street Ads

As seen in this poetic yet instructional video, FAREWELL creates a rather simple device (which the artist calls the “destructeur”) with wood, hardware and X-Acto blades. Executed in Paris, the destructeur is placed inside of a bus stop’s rotating advertisement, creating a self-shredding device when the ads rotate.

Ingenious, or shocking? Depends who you ask, but one must admit the simplicity of this “sculptural” project is quite amazing, and although it does destroy private property, the outcome is quite stunning in a formalist way. View the video below…what do you think?
