Judge OKs Christo’s 6-mile, $50M Art Project
A Colorado judge has given Christo the thumbs-up on Christo’s proposed six-mile, $50 million project to drape the Arkansas River with shimmering fabric a green light.
But not everyone is happy. Here’s what one WSJ commenter had to say,
Move over Madoff, Christo has to be the most successful con-man in history. Not only is he not in jail, he is actally revered by some fools as a great artist.
$50 million to drape plastic over the river for 6 miles!?! That is almost $10 million per mile. Hell, you can build a 4 lane highway in a rural area for $12 million per mile and that includes aquiring the rights of way.
