Scared of Theft, A Museum Deaccessions

From the “what the hell” department we get this interesting story.

The Fred L. Emerson Foundation has decided to sell an original painting, Portage Falls on The Genesee, by Thomas Cole. Why? According to the foundation, for security reasons: they’re afraid someone will walk off with it.
